Weekend with family in LA

This last weekend we went out to L.A. and went to church with everyone and then we did our own BBQ. Church was awesome (Reality LA where Nate and Kim go is so cool- we love it!)...weather was absolutely beautiful...brats were delicious...shared some good laughs with the siblings and even a couple of tears. I have to be honest, life down here is not sunshine and happiness everyday...sometimes you have to be real, but at least you have family to be real with! Praise the Lord for that. :) Here are some pictures of the day...

The guys broiled the brats first in beer, then bbq'ed them. They were sooooo good!

I love my sisters...wish Kristina could have been here too!
Of course a pit stop into Starbucks...we're coffee people. :)

Football & Friends

First of all, sorry it's been awhile since we've updated-our camera was being serviced. So the past couple weeks have been pretty routine with me getting more and more comfortable in my job at the dental school and Jared is ready to start school next week. We've found several cool new places down here...like a really inexpensive sandwich shop, a walk from our house that takes us up to a hill that has a beautiful view of the Loma Linda, San Bernardino area, a neat coffee shop called Fox Coffee and a Dollar Tree store (amazing what you can get for $1)!
Last night we had a really fun time hanging out with some new friends we have down here. Scott and Katie Lyon are from Spokane are here's the short version of how we connected...Katie took my position at Provisional Staffing when I left there to go to Advantage IQ...we kept in touch because we knew Scott got into the Physical Therapy program at LLU and we knew there was a chance that we could be at Loma Linda too. Well, Jared obviously got in at LLUSD and so Katie and I kept in touch and here we are, hanging out and having a blast together. The other couple, Ryan and Katie Ann, Scott and Katie met through their church down here and we all got together to watch the USC/Ohio St. game. Scott is from Ohio and is a die-hard Buckeye fan...win or lose! We had a great time last night...pretty sure this will be the first of many get together's like this since this is how couples in grad school make it through. :) You have to have great friends and you have to find time to just break from the books and studying and enjoy life.
Here are the girls...me, Katie and Katie Ann. We all put together a pretty mean dinner- we ate pretty good for couple's who live on one income because a spouse is in school. :)
(Katie Ann starts the Dental Hygiene program next week)
The guys...Scott, Ryan (with their dog Jasper), Jared and Joel (who is a friend of Scott's from college down here visiting)
Katie and I...really nice to have found a friend down here and we are very alike!
