Rounding it off

So we took a last minute trip out to Vegas to visit parents to round off spring break. We really needed to see them and I'm glad that we did because they are the biggest support system we have! I can't tell you what an encouragment all of our parents are to us and how much it means to see them during the school breaks that Jared gets. We visited a couple "firsts" this time downtown...the M&M and Coke store on the strip which were super fun...have you tried the coconut M&M's yet? Mmmmmm, so good!

We went to Red Rock again for some hiking and tried a new trail this time called Ice Box Canyon, which takes you to a stream in the middle of the desert and then eventually a waterfall at the end of the canyon. We are becoming big Red Rock fans!

Found a natural spring coming off the mountian and of course Jared couldn't resist. He's a fish...

Jared In Action

Jared had the opportunity to work at the M.E.N.D. dental clinic for a couple days over Spring Break up in the San Fernando Valley. M.E.N.D. stands for Meet Each Need with Dignity and it is a clinic that Loma Linda has a huge connection with. Free dental care is provided to the community and the students offer their time, skills and service to people who would otherwise not receive any dental help. These clinics are what motivate Jared through school right now since his school schedule is very didactic these first two years- he loves the hands-on stuff, interfacing with the patients and assisting his upper classmen.

Spring Break...so far

We love southern California! Since Saturday, our spring break has included...Laguna Beach (with our neighbors/friends/Jared's big bro in dental school Aaron and Vi), Costa Mesa for a whole day with my sisters, Huntington Beach for dinner, South Coast Plaza, Irvine Spectrum, and tonight we are in Hollywood by Universal Studios because Jared is volunteering at a dental clinic in the area for the next two days. These have been the most fun couple of days we've had in a long time and it's so great to be able to go so many places with our family and friends!

2nd quarter...almost done!

Spring break is almost here...next week we'll be sitting somewhere on this beach relaxing and enjoying some down time. Jared has finals this week, which makes for a busy weekend and week of studying like crazy and making sure he's getting good sleep and staying well fed. On the agenda for spring break:

- Newport beach for 2 nights and seeing both my sisters and brothers which I am so excited for! Maybe do some shopping at Fashion Island and for sure get some good sun time in.

-Universal City/San Fernando Valley for a night. Jared will be working at a dental clinic up there for 2 days and I was invited to come too.

Lots of fun coming up...can't wait! Will definitely post pictures after it's all done.
