I did a Triathlon!

My friend Lindsay, who did her first triathlon back in July encouraged me to do one since we are workout buddies and I ended up going with her suggestion. So yesterday, she and I competed in a sprint triathlon in La Quinta, CA which is southeast of Palm Springs and had a great time. 500 meter swim, 14 mile bike, 3 mile run. It was a huge accomplishment for me and an amazing personal goal and I was so happy to do it with a great friend!!! And the bonus is that my parents were down for the weekend and were able to come and support me!

This was right after we finished
My official time was 1:37
"After" photo with the fam-I loved having them there to cheer me on!

My BIGGEST fan

Taking off my time chip after I crossed the finish

The medals we received for finishing. This was a Trek Women's Tri- they are women only triathlons and they have several throughout the year all over the country.

How you REALLY feel after a triathlon

The best cheerleaders ever! And thanks to Alla who braided my hair for the race! :)
We lapped the lake for the 3 mile run

Off the bike and ready to finish with the run!

Coming out of the swim...which was the difficult leg of the race for me. I was so happy to get the swim over with!

And we're off...

This lady cheered and high-five'd us as we crossed the finish

Lindsay & Landon, Jared & Jadie- always cheering eachother on!

25 & 28...your age goes on the back of your left calf.

I loved doing this with such a great friend. Lindsay has taught me how to overcome fear and just go for things and I'm grateful to have her as my friend!

Practicing for the swim

La Quinta, CA- beautiful place for a race

Fun weekend with family and friends and now I can cross "completing a triathlon" off my bucket list. Difficult...yes, fun...yes, would I do it again...yes with definitely more practicing on the swim! :)

Congrats Jadie! Feels SO great to finish a triathlon, huh? That course looked beautiful! And how did you manage to smile, wave, and run all at the same time? Impressive! ;)
